Becky Nevergold

        A 20 year educator, Becky Nevergold has 15 years in the classrooom and four years in the front office. She has taught multiple grades and been a principal in two different schools. Becky Nevergold is now the Executive Director for Communities In Schools of Ottawa, Inc.; theProject Director for Reach for the Stars After School Program; and the Co-coordinator for YouthFriends of Ottawa.  

        After graduating from Ottawa University, Ms. Nevergold received her master's degree in education administration from Fort Hays State University. She is a firm believer in public education, and Ms. Nevergold knows that the better children feel physically, mentally and emotionally, the better they will do in school. "It takes a village to raise a child" is the model in which she believes and is the model she is following as the Executive Director for Communities In Schools of Ottawa, Inc.

Emma Thayer
        Emma Thayer is the site coordinator for Reach for the Stars After School Program and the co-cordinator for YouthFriends Ottawa. Ms. Thayer believes in the preparation and commitment needed to have a successful program. Her ability to do this comes from her background and experience ranging from being an office manager to taking on the responsibility of pharmacy tech at Ransom Memorial Hospital.  
        She has worked with young people both at achurch and as atrea representative for Center for CUltural Interchange exchange student program. 
        She is a graduate of Kansas City Community College from which she holds an associate's degree in office administration. Lastly, Mrs. Thayer believes in being there for kids and wants to help all children have a better life.
