PRINCIPAL AND ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

PRINCIPAL

Welcome to Ottawa Middle School, Home of the Whirlwinds! The 2023-2024 school year is upon us, with great things on the horizon! This year our staff will be focusing their work on student learning and high academic achievement. Students will be focused on goal setting, high achievement, and using a growth mindset when faced with new and difficult tasks.

Our staff strives to ensure that Ottawa Middle School is a place where each student is valued, educated, and has the skills and behaviors to be a successful adult. I don't believe this can be done alone, we need a strong partnership with parents to help support students' goals. Open communication between parents and school staff is imperative to ensure student success and achievement. We also need high levels of engagement and rigor in the classroom. When we: Build the Relationship, Create the Engagement, and Ensure the Rigor, we can do great things for students!

I look forward to working with you and your child this year, as they learn and grow. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or concerns.

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

I am delighted to be the Assistant Principal/Activities Director at Ottawa Middle School. The 2023-2024 school year is my 10th year at OMS and 26th year in education. Throughout my tenure at OMS, I have worked in the capacity of teacher, librarian, and instructional coach. My experiences at OMS have helped me develop positive relationships and community connections; these connections will create a positive learning environment for all students.

These last 9 years at OMS, combined with several years of elementary teaching experience, have reinforced my beliefs that life long learning is an important skill for students to develop. As an administrator, I hope to help cultivate an environment where academic achievement and personal growth is promoted and expected.
